Hair color trends

Micro highlights [Babylights]

Foilyage

🔸Micro highlights are created using micro sections as teeny tiny sections of hair to be highlighted creating a subtly brighter and very natural looking highlight effect.

🔷Babylights highlight technique is delicate seamless soft shimmer and dimensional as micro highlights, and it uses a very thin section of hair and creates a very little separation between foils, so the highlights blend with the base color to mimic the subtle, children's hair.

Ombre'

January 15, 2019

Ombre' from the French word meaning shaded or shading. Ombre' hair color is generally darker at the roots through the mid-shaft and then gradually gets lighter from the mid-shaft to the ends

ombré- gives light to dark ombré, lighter at the bulb (front) of the brow and going darker towards the tail. ombré gives a soft look that's still natural looking.

Sombre'

Sombre' like it sounds, Sombre' is characterized by a subtle color transition from roots to tips. It’s Ombre', but softer. This creates a less contrast between the roots and the ends but adds just enough color to stand out.

Shading should be more seamless and gradual than Ombre'. This can be done by weaving your natural root color throughout the hair, allowing your highlights to blend in naturally.

Sombre' like Ombre' can be a time-consuming process at the beginning, but once done the touch-ups are relatively low maintenance. for added dimension and texture and a more natural look than Ombre'.

Escaille, Tortoiseshell

Ecaille hair color refers to a color palette, not a technique

However, using a combination of hand painting and micro highlighting to achieve the dimension, much like an actual tortoiseshell, this hair color trend is characterized by it’s soft, dark to the light color of graduation. Such color like neutral to golden tones like caramel, mocha, toffee and honey hues for inspiration and application.

Flamboyage

Flamboyage hair Color Technique. It is a combination of ombre' and balayage, where the transparent adhesive strip is used to color the hair or there is also different technique to achieve soft peek-a-boo highlights.

Foilyage

Foilyage is a technique colorists use when they want to get more lift out of the ends and can't achieve that with balayage or traditional foils.

Foilyage is a technique where the color is painted on the hair, just like balayage, but then each painted section is wrapped in foils. For this, you need help from the foil, which seals in the heat, helps the hair get lighter.

Balayage

Balayage from the French word meaning sweeping has softer, less noticeable regrowth lines than traditional highlights. Balayage dries out when it's exposed to air—and allows the hair to process evenly.

Also, Balayage is a freehand technique as no foil or Meche are used to create the highlights. Because Balayage highlights don't involve completely saturating your hair in bleach or color, and it creates more dimension with beautiful fullness effect.
